Harvesting Campaign 2021
As of 30 July, farmers in Ukraine harvested more than 14.1 mln t of new crop grain on 3.4 mln ha, 22% of the projected area. The yield of early grain crops is 4.2 t/ha on average.
The Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture reports, that harvesting is in progress:
- winter barley: 5 mln t on 1.19 mln ha (48% of the total area), the average yield is 4.18 t/ha
- winter wheat: 8.86 mln t on 2.07 mln ha (30%), the avg. yield is 4.28 t/ha
- peas: 242 thou. t on 110 thou. ha (47%), the avg. yield is 2.21 t/ha
The new harvesting campaign started in all regions of Ukraine. Agricultural producers of Kherson region became leaders in harvesting. They’ve harvested 69% of the planned areas (542 thou. ha) having the avg. yield of 4.54 t/ha, the new crop reached 2.2 mln t.
The average yield of grains and legumes that is higher than 5 t/ha is harvested in Vinnytsya, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Khmelnytsky, Rivne, Ternopil, and Zhytomyr regions.
Experts project that wheat exports from Ukraine in 2021/22 will be around 21 mln t, corn exports will be just above 30 mln t. Ukraine's sunflowerseed supply is projected to be around 16 mln t.
