Facts about mustard
Mustard seeds are round-shaped seeds having a diameter of about 1 to 2 millimetres, coloured from pale yellow to black. The mustard seeds are used as a spice: grinding and mixing them with water and vinegar results in the yellow sauce known as prepared mustard. The seeds can also be pressed to make oil, while mustard powder is used in the manufacture of mayonnaise.
Being an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids and fibre, mustard also boasts a rich supply of minerals including iron, calcium, phosphorus, manganese, selenium and zinc.
