Pulses in Ukraine: plantation areas and structure

The structure of the pulse growing area in Ukraine has never been a constant value. It is always changing and for the last couple of years the dynamics of the growing area under pulses has reduced to the level of 2016. Having reached its pinnacle in 2018 it then slumped back to the previous lows.

The table shows that the average share of growing area under peas among all pulses is always higher than 2/3 of total area.
As of 2020 among "other pulses" the share of growing area for beans is 62.4%, i.e. 48.3 ths ha of 77.3 ths ha.
Whereas the share of peas is 75% out of all plantation areas dedicated to pulses and beans take only 15% of the growing area.*
